It is a desire for any working person to become rich one day and be able to live a luxuriously for the rest of the life. Only a few will mange to make it but the higher percentage wont make it.
What makes the majority to live a poor life is mainly brought by lifestyle. Most of the people live a life of show off. you want the society to see how well you are but in real sense your whole life is a lie.
When you relay on borrowed money to live high end life and at the end of it all when the debts pile up you are unable to pay. Instead of borrowing you can start investing with the little you have and also control on your spending.
As long as you spend more than your income then definitely you will remain poor and poor all your life.
