Kenya Airways to Delay November Salary

Kenya Airways Ltd most commonly known as KQ is the flag carrier airline of Kenya which was founded in 1977 after the dissolution of East Africa Airways.

It is partially state owned with the government owning 50% of it's shares.

KQ has been having financial issues forcing the government coming to it's aid by pumping billions of shillings so as to keep it running.

With the recent strike that was called off by the court which has lead to quite huge amount of losses. It is estimated that strike cost over 300 million of shillings daily which is around 1.2 billion.

It has also affected over 10,000 passengers who were left stranded at the airport.

KQ who is among the largest carrier airlines in Africa and boast quite a number of planes.

The airline's chief people officer informed the workers that the November Salary will be delayed. He stated that due to the losses after the strike that lead to low revenue collection, the company will have no funds to pay the workers.

The top management has been blamed for the poor running of the airline service which has always resulted to incurring losses even after the government putting lots of money in it.

The striking pilots also blamed the management of low payment and lack of cooperation with it's workers.

The Treasury is seeking to sale the airline to a foreign investor a move the is likely to see the airline service back to it's feet.

KQ is a great company and it's a prayer for everyone to see it running since so many people depend on it to survive. With the numbers of people it employs and also the passengers.
